We will depart from London toward northern England. We will stop in CAMBRIDGE to admire its beautiful residential colleges. After lunchtime, we will continue to YORK where its cathedral, its Roman walls and lively shopping streets will create a charming memory. Time for a stroll. Afterwards, we will continue north. DURHAM. Arrival in this small, charming medieval town full of life which has a wonderful cathedral right in front of its castle.
We will travel to Scotland. We will stop in ALNWICK, a picturesque town with lovely gardens and a big medieval castle where the Harry Potter film was shot. We will later continue to EDINBURGH, where we will arrive at noon. This is Scotland’s capital city and one of the most active cities in Northern Europe. Its monumental centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its castle overlooks the city, its steep streets and its parks. Sightseeing tour with a local guide included.

We will depart for northern Scotland. We will visit STIRLING and its amazing historic centre overlooked by its large castle which sits atop an intrusive crag. We will also visit WALLACE Monument. We will trek the trail that goes to the foot of the tower (ticket not included) which was built in memory of William Wallace, a 13thcentury Scottish military hero who became famous thanks to the film Braveheart.
Afterwards, we will continue north to PITLOCHRY, a picturesque town where we know a traditional whisky distillery, Blair Athol, where Bell´s is produced. Lunchtime. Afterwards, we will enter (ticket included) Blair Castle and its impressive gardens. We will continue north. Arrival in INVERNESS late in the afternoon. A seaside town quite close to Loch Ness. Dinner included and sojourn.
Note : The hotel network in northern Scotland is quite limited. For some tours (normally in the month of August), we may offer accommodation in towns around Inverness.
We will enjoy a stage full of excitement amid quite beautiful landscapes, forests, lakes, deserted lands and fjords from northern Scotland. We will visit the fascinating Eilean Donan Castle, which is quite picturesque and is located over the fjord’s waters (ticket included). Afterwards, we will travel to FORT AUGUSTUS where we will visit its sluice gate system. Time for lunch and a stroll. We will resume our trip to LOCH NESS in the afternoon. We include a boat tour around the lake’s dark waters. We will disembark and offer tickets to enter URQUHART medieval castle. Dinner and sojourn in INVERNESS.
We will continue enjoying a stage with gorgeous landscapes. We will make a brief stop in SPEAN BRIDGE to visit a monument that speaks about the Second World War. We will later stop in FORT WILLIAM, a tourist centre at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest summit in the United Kingdom. We will go by kilchurn Castle, which displays its beautiful ruins right by a dark lake. INVERARAY, a quite picturesque historic village by Loch Fyne with a large castle and quiet streets. Lunchtime. We will return contouring Loch Lomond, one of the most popular lakes in Scotland. Time for a stroll around BALLOCH, the liveliest town on its banks. Arrival in GLASGOW at mid-afternoon. Time for a stroll around the centre of this lively city.
We will depart from Glasgow toward southern Scotland. We will board a ferryboat in Troon. Journey toward Northern Ireland. Arrival in BELFAST, Northern Ireland’s capital city. This monumental city is overcoming its religious conflicts. We will resume our journey to EIRE (Ireland). Arrival in DUBLIN at the end of the day.
Sightseeing tour of DUBLIN, Ireland’s peaceful capital city. We will enjoy a stroll on the banks of River Liffey, visiting its parks, its old university and its lively downtown streets. We will stroll around Trinity College (depending on the duration of sunlight, this visit may take place the afternoon before, upon arrival in Dublin). Free afternoon.
We will depart from Dublin. POWERSCOURT is located in its vicinity. We will visit (ticket included) its magnificent gardens, designed in the 18th century and considered the most beautiful gardens in Ireland featuring its fountains, its Japanese garden, and its pet cemetery. Afterwards, we will travel to KILKENNY where we will have time for lunch and to stroll around this lively small town. Further south, we will stop to visit the impressive Rock of CASHEL (ticket included), a medieval fortress that symbolises the fight of Irish people against England. Arrival in CORK at mid-afternoon. Time for a stroll around the centre of Ireland’s second largest city.
We will depart for KINSALE. We will stop by Charles Fort to admire its great vistas of the ocean right by the 17th century fortress. Time in the historic centre of KINSALE, a seaside town, considered by many as one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Ireland. Afterwards, we will travel to KILLARNEY, a tourist town in the heart of Ireland. After strolling around and lunch, we include a romantic horse and carriage tour of its NATIONAL PARK, amid gardens by the lake. We will take the horse and carriage tour until we arrive at Ross Castle which offers wonderful vistas by the lake. We include a short cruise to enjoy the grand vistas of the lake. Afterwards, we will get back en route. Brief stop in ADARE, a small village that preserves its picturesque traditional thatched-roof cottages and the ruins of the old abbey. Mid-afternoon arrival in LIMERICK. Time to stroll around its centre where you will have the opportunity to visit its castle, walk along its river, go to its cathedral or discover its shopping centre. Dinner included.
Ticket included for FOLK PARK in BUNRATY, a wonderful park where we will learn about how life was in Ireland in the past with its typical cottages and old markets. Its castle stands out as it accurately reproduces how life was in the Middle Ages. We will later continue to CAHERCONNEL where Poulnabroune dolmen is found. We may have a chance to see an exhibition of how dogs shepherd sheep. Afterwards, we will visit the impressive Cliffs of Moher which overlook the ocean. Those who wish it may trek to O’Brien’s Tower. Our route later goes through Burren National Park which displays amazing landscapes. Arrival in GALWAY.
Time in GALWAY to visit its Spanish Arch and its charming pedestrian area. We will later visit CONG, a small, picturesque village located in a magnificent lake area. We will visit the ruins of the Royal Abbey and walk around Ashford castle, a gorgeous medieval castle that has been turned into a hotel. We will travel to CLONMACNOISE after lunch where we will visit its monastic ruins (ticket included). We will resume our journey to DUBLIN where we will arrive late in the afternoon.
We will board a fast ferryboat early in the morning. After a journey of two or three hours, we will arrive in Wales. We will visit CAERNARFON, a World Heritage site by the sea overlooked by an impressive castle. Time for lunch and a stroll. We will travel next to LIVERPOOL, where you will have a chance to visit The Beatles Story exhibition.
We will travel in southern England. We will visit STRATFORD UPON AVON, Shakespeare’s hometown. Time for lunch and a stroll. Afterwards, we will travel to OXFORD, a town that is synonymous with study and culture. Kings, statesmen, philosophers and scientists have studied there. We will continue to LONDON. Late afternoon arrival. End of our services.
